The Hague Architecture Day

Saturday, May 20, 2017

Meet today’s Architecture: Architecture Day gives all those interested in architecture the opportunity to experience and explore the rich architectural heritage of The Hague. Take a look inside unique buildings that are otherwise closed to the public. During the architectural free guided tours, professional guides and architects will present information about the design and history of the various buildings. The annual Architecture Day in The Hague will take place on Saturday, May 20. English guided tours are partly made possible by The Hague Bridge.

Theme: ‘City of Unlimited Knowledge’
‘You certainly can’t say that The Hague is a dull city of civil servants anymore,’ said Mayor Jozias van Aartsen in a farewell interview. The theme for The Hague Architecture Day – ‘City of Unlimited Knowledge’ – will show that the knowledge economy is enlivening this city to an even greater extent. Symbolising this transition to a knowledge economy was the arrival of Leiden University’s new faculty right in the middle of the city.
The Central Information Point, available only on May 20, will be located in the Wijnhaven building Leiden University, Campus The Hague, Turfmarkt 99. If you would like to go on a guided tour, this is where you could ask about your options.
